What are the requirements for a car rental establishment to use the portal?

The establishment must be licensed by the General Transport Authority to engage in the activity and must have an active primary account on the Naql portal.

What are the requirements for the renter and the authorized driver (if any) to conclude the contract?

Provide the following:

  • A valid and approved identification document.
  • A valid driver's license for the entire duration of the contract.
  • Compliance with the insurance coverage conditions as per the vehicle’s insurance policy.
  • Provide the verification code sent to the renter’s and authorized driver’s (if any) registered mobile number on the Absher platform and sign electronically to conclude the contract.

What are the necessary requirements for the vehicle to conclude the contract?

The vehicle must have a valid Operating Card.

Can the renter extend or cancel the contract through the portal?

Currently, only the lessor can perform operations on the contract through the portal.

What is the procedure for verifying the parties' signatures on the rental contract?

Using the verification code feature and the electronic signature process as measures to verify the signing process.

Can receiving the car from another branch be restricted?

Yes, receiving the car from a branch other than the one specified in the contract can be restricted. The lessor has the right to charge additional fees if the vehicle is returned to a different branch, as stated in the contract terms.

Is the authorization canceled after the contract is terminated or suspended?

Yes, the authorization is automatically canceled.

What is the procedure if the rental period ends and the renter does not return the car?

The system will continue to calculate the delay charges until the rented vehicle is returned. The lessor has the right to request vehicle repossession through the relevant authorities.

What is the procedure if the vehicle is returned before the end of the contract period?

The contract will either be terminated or suspended, as applicable, and the rental cost will be calculated according to the early return policy specified in the contract terms.

Is it necessary to print the electronic contract for signing by the concerned parties?

No, printing the contract is not required for signing, as the signing process is done electronically.

Can the renter view contracts on the portal?

Yes, the renter can. Additionally, the renter can search for and view a contract through the portal.

What is the procedure on the portal for documenting vehicle damages?

Any damages to the vehicle are reflected in the contract under the technical condition clauses of the vehicle.

How is the cost of damages resulting from a non-traffic accident, misuse, or excessive wear and tear by the renter added to the contract according to the report from an accredited technical center?

The amount is entered when submitting a request to terminate the contract.

When can the contract be extended?

The contract can be extended before its expiration.

When can the contract be suspended?

The contract is suspended in the following cases:

  • Outstanding financial claims against the renter.
  • Vehicle damages resulting from a non-traffic accident, misuse, or excessive wear and tear by the renter, requiring a damage assessment through an accredited damage assessment center.

What is the procedure if the contract is extended but the renter fails to pay the due extension amount?

If the contract period ends and the vehicle is returned without settling the outstanding amounts, the contract will be suspended under the reason 'financial claim', and the claim will be escalated to the relevant authorities.

How is vehicle data stored in the Tajeer portal?

When a vehicle is added through the portal, its data is automatically saved, eliminating the need for re-entering it when concluding a new rental contract.

Is there a way to generate a report of paid amounts for submission to the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority?

A feature for generating reports is currently being developed.

What is the procedure for active contracts that were concluded before rental offices were required to issue contracts through the Tajeer portal?

Active contracts will remain valid until their expiration date.
